Sausage & Pepper Salad

This meal speaks for itself…three ingredients: Spicy Sausage cooked in EVOO, Red and Yellow Peppers. That’s it! It was tasty ๐Ÿ™‚ Oh the red wine in the background is something I need to rave about. I am not a red wine drinker, if at all I stick with whites but a friend brought this over a couple weekends ago and I went to three different liquor stores seeking it out. Flip Flop makes it and it’s called Headshrinker.ย  Lovely name right? It’s very sweet but that’s how I likes it and I love this sweet red.

Banana Pancakes

If you know me then you know I love anything that has Banana’s as an ingredient. Because I have to be in theย  mood for pancakes, my husband was psyched to know I was making this for breakfast this morning. He loves anything that is sweet…someone needs to have a sweet tooth in the family right? He holds that in ours ๐Ÿ™‚ I loved these fluffy pancakes, they hit the spot but in hindsight I would have made them green! Happy St. Patty’s Day!

Strawberry-Walnut Crumble Bar

This little dessert has my heart. Not only was it super easy to make but it tastes so freaking good! I’m not a super huge sweet tooth when it comes to baked goods but this perfect delight suits me perfect. It was also gone in two days which is good and bad; good because I hate to waste food and bad because Summer is around the corner, the last thing I want to do is bake, eat, photograph…rinse and repeat.I didn’t have Raspberry Jam on hand so I substituted with Strawberry. I can’t wait to try some other variations!

I found this off of Real Simple, you can find the recipe HERE. I’m totally making this at the next Girl’s Night ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thirsty Thursday: Pink Lemonade

Welcome to my very first post! I’m extremely happy to have a separate blog to showcase all my cooking and food photography.ย  I started a recent obsession as of last year with food photography, I love how looking at a photo can instantly tantalize your taste buds and have you craving the food subject.

I have a lot to learn with cooking and food photography and I welcome you on my journey!

Every Thursday I will create a delicious libation which may or may not include alcohol. Tonight is Pink Lemonade! A few things I learned when making my first cup of pink lemonade from scratch: 1. check your hands/fingers for any papercuts…NOT FUN! 2. small sips to test taste, I didn’t realize how tart it would be until I took a big gulp…can you say heartburn?! 3. add a little more Cranberry juice, it takes away the tart and when I thought I had a nice pink hue to the lemonade after I shot a few frames I added more and it looked much better. Unfortunately I didn’t feel like shlepping it back down to the studio for another photo.

Simply squeeze fresh lemon into your cup, add a small squeeze of Grapefruit, splash of Cranberry Juice to give it the pink hue. Garnish with a slice of lemon or lemon slices directly into your cup and ENJOY!!! I also colored some sugar and stuck some around the rim of the glass.
